Former Governor John Engler and the Michigan State Legislature soaked the taxpayers of Michigan--retirees, struggling waitresses, unemployed autoworkers--to the tune of $189 million to build a new stadium for the richest man in the state. Some states require welfare recipients to pass a drug screen. Welfare queen Mike Ilitch did no such thing: he pissed all over the taxpayers of Michigan instead.
